The Top Six Apps To Help Plan Black Friday Shopping

From Apps That Run On Twitter To Amazon's Huge Store Access App

You know that going into a Black Friday sale without any advance planning is a bad idea. But what you may not be familiar with already is that there are actually some apps out there designed specifically to help you plan your Black Friday shopping in one of several ways. And though the field is somewhat decreased from years previous, there will still be some entrants out there designed to give you a hand with your shopping planning. Thus, we offer up a list of the top six apps you’ll want to help you with your Black Friday shopping.

6. Black Friday.fm From the folks out at Sazze, Black Friday.fm not only does a fair job of sorting out the deals from the chaff, but it will also give you a news feed about those deals. You can get your shopping and your background all in the same place from a set of easily organized menus, as well as set up a shopping list for the places you want to hit, and link outward with Safari to get more background on the items in question.

5. Tweets-shop Harnessing the awesome power of Twitter, you’ll get the straightest possible news from a host of different stores. It basically consolidates all the twitter feeds of over forty different stores, from 1-800 Flowers to Whole Foods, to fill you in on the most recent possible news of the day. I followed the scroll for a while and discovered that, for a while, American Eagle was giving away $50 gift cards for random followers who used “Wish list” and “@american_eagle” in the same tweet. Valuable news, especially if you happened to be one of those who got gift cards.

4. Amazon App The big advantage to the Amazon app is that it not only gives you access to Amazon’s huge Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal structure, but it’ll also give you access to your shopping cart, wish lists, payment settings, shipping settings, order history, one click settings, the whole deal. And it’ll even give you access to an additional set of merchants numbering over nine thousand, which is like having a shopping arena roughly 20 times the size of the Mall of America. And frankly, I don’t want to think about how much real estate that would eat up. So it makes a great place to handle your shopping for just about anything you could think of, or at least point you in the right direction.

3. FatWallet Black Friday The Fatwallet Black Friday app connects you to a forum out at FatWallet.com, which in turn relays to you the very latest in Black Friday leaks.  Fatwallet’s deals come in from all over–including a host of leaks spilled by regular folks like us. It’s a great place to keep abreast of the news in one central place, especially since that’s all they do out there–and especially if all you’ve got is your iPhone. It’s like us…in an app!

2. TGI Black Friday The great part about TGI Black Friday is that, not only will you get the Black Friday deals that you’re craving, searchable and configurable by categories, as well as the ability to make your own deals list so you know what you’re going for and what you want, but you’ll get two extra features. Not only will you get a diagram showing the stores and how many ads they have out, but also a countdown showing you how many days are left until Black Friday.

1. Black Friday by BradsDeals This one actually got my attention first and foremost for its sheer organizational capability. Of course you’ll be able to sort your deals by store, so you know what’s waiting for you in your venue of choice, but you’ll also be able to check out a special set of unusually potent deals dubbed their “top deals”. Sure, you’ll see this sort of functionality in a few different apps, but it was the interface that really got me on this one.

And so, there you go: six apps that you’ll want on hand for your Black Friday hunt. There may be fewer of them than normal–not too many companies are looking to take advantage of apps that are really only valuable for one whole day–but there are still plenty of great ones out there.

Of course, you’ll have a great set of Black Friday deals right here with us, so when you’re at your computer, we’re the place to start.
