New Lord Of The Rings: War In The North Trailer Gives Us A Look At The Story
I’ll admit it, if you put something Lord of the Rings-related in front of me, I’m probably going to eat it up. Remember that mediocre RPG Lord of the Rings: The Third Age that came out last-gen and was so absurd that it had you fighting the Eye of Sauron while Aragorn and Gandalf led the fight at the Black Gates? Yeah. I played that game all the way through, multiple times. So, being the dungeon-crawling lover that I am, it should be no surprise that I’m more than excited for this game.

Keep this in mind before you view the trailer – this game doesn’t involve Aragorn, Gimli or Legolas. Instead, you play as one of a group of warriors sent into the North while Frodo and the Fellowship work their way toward Mordor, in order to fight off the growing legion of Sauron’s orcs and prevent them from heading into the south. After all, what good is getting the ring to Mordor if Orcs have already burned most of the region you were trying to protect?
War in the North is being made for Xbox 360, PC and PS3 by Snowblind Studios, and will be released sometime in 2011.
