MySpace to Connect With Facebook?
It takes drastic changes to bring together former competitors. MySpace, hitherto the most popular social networking site, has since been overtaken by Facebook. MySpace has conceded defeat in the social network battle, but has repositioned itself as a social entertainment site. Now, they’re linking up with Facebook.

MySpace has not officially confirmed this link-up, but all signs point to this partnership, according to industry analysts. At the Web 2.0 Summit, attendees were talking about MySpace using Facebook Connect. “They have to. They need the same audience to come to MySpace,” according to a source who wanted to be anonymous. Of course, MySpace does not want to officially confirm this yet.
Facebook has long overtaken MySpace in terms of user-base, popularity and functionality. The question here is whether MySpace has anything to gain with using Facebook Connect. True, they need all the help they can get, and Facebook Connect might help drive traffic and users to MySpace. Whether this will get MySpace some much-needed attention is still to be proven, however.
