BLACK FRIDAY: Office Depot Offers Free $30 Gift Cards
Getting down to the home stretch, folks–I can already smell the turkey and stuffing in the air, and just behind that, the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, where electronics buffs can indulge their long pent up desires to snag some sweet new hardware, or do some shopping for the other electronics buffs in their lives. And to that end, Office Depot’s got something extra special in line for you: free gift cards.

They’re giving away money? You’re no doubt screaming at your monitor. Preposterous! I have seen it, folks, and unless Office Depot’s lying to us all, it’s quite true. Now, I know you’ve all been keeping up with the deals that Office Depot’s looking to offer up. But what’s been tacked on is a special promotion geared more toward iPhone users and the like in the form of Office Depot’s Top 30 Smart Gifts campaign.
It’s a combination of things: first, Office Depot’s established both a website and an iPhone app called Top 30 Smart Gifts. If you actually go to the website (you’ll find the link in my via link), turn your volume down or they will assail you with a kind of peppy psuedo-Christmas music whose tune I don’t immediately recognize, but if it were any more bubbly an elf would likely jump out of my speakers, do a merry jig on my keyboard, then break a bottle of Jack Daniels over my head before stealing my car keys. From there, you’ll find two things: one, a series of menu options to show you just what they’re classifying as their Top 30 Smart Gifts list, and two, a kind of a contest, for a contest.
It’s called the Office Depot Gift of the Day Instant Win game. You’ll be able to start signing up to play November 21st (that’s this Sunday), and there will be thirty daily winners of a prize that changes daily. But if you’re one of the first 300 people to sign up to play, you get a $30 gift card free—unless you sign up on your cell phone or smartphone, plus many other terms and conditions. And of course, you can also see what gifts Office Depot would love for you to buy, as well as play some games (Gift Swap is kind of like a big Bejeweled with corporate sponsorship).
So have fun and get ready to sign up if you want a crack at $30 in free gift cards.
