Ubisoft Says New Assassin's Creed May Be Coming In 2011
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood isn’t even out yet, but Ubisoft is already talking about Assassin’s Creed plans for 2011. When Yves Guillemont, CEO of Ubisoft, was asked by Ubisoft investors during a conference call what plans were for the acclaimed series in 2011, all Guillemont had to say was “There will be something around Assassin’s…that’s the only thing we can say,” which really means yes, he sounds like he was just trying to be mysterious about it.

It’s common knowledge that Ubisoft shareholders want Assassin’s Creed to become a yearly franchise – after all, it is one of Ubisoft’s biggest selling franchises, and people are going to buy new entries regardless. The fact that it is on its way to becoming yearly is echoed in Brotherhood‘s multiplayer mode, something that is new to the series, and by the fact that Brotherhood is being released just one year after Assassin’s Creed II. I don’t want to knock smart business practices, but I think you got some Activision in my Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft.

What happened to “No assassin’s creed in 2011″ Ubisfot said a few months back. I guess assassin’s creed is falling into the annual gaming market like cod and sports games. It’s sad, I like the Assassin’s Creed series a lot but if Ubisoft starts to just make the games for a large profit every year I will stop buying them.
