BLACK FRIDAY: Kmart Offers Up Some Steep Black Friday Gaming Deals
For those of you who thought that Kmart was no longer a viable shopping destination, well, you’re probably still right. But they are, give them credit, offering up a slug of Black Friday specials and they’re looking to draw the gamer crowd? How big a deal is this? Try some recent Xbox 360 titles for $10.

Right now you’re probably rolling your eyes at the monitor and bleakly wondering what kind of movie tie-in crap could possibly go for ten bucks at Kmart, and you’d be partially right. One of the titles listed is Madagascar Kartz and I assure you that’s not a typo. But! Assuming you were sufficiently adventurous to read past that little embolism-causer, maybe you’ll feel a bit better about ten bucks for a copy of Mass Effect 2.
And the word is that there’s a whole lot more where those two (well, maybe more like one and a half depending on how you count Madagascar Kartz) came from, and it’s going to be across most of the major systems. A lot of relatively new titles will even emerge. Check this rundown out:
Xbox 360 titles will feature Madden 11 for $39.99, NHL 11 for $39.99, The Sims 3 at $39.99, EA Sports MMA for $39.99, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit comes in at $34.99, Rock Band Beatles (just the game by itself) for $14.99,
Batman: Arkham Asylum is $14.99, recent notorious hit Fallout New Vegas will freak everyone out at $34.99, Medal of Honor for $34.99, as-mentioned Mass Effect 2 for $9.99, Dragon Age Origins U.E. for $34.99, newcomer Fable 3 hits for $39.99, Halo Reach for $39.99, Call of Duty: World at War is $14.99, Mafia 2 is set for $34.99 and big surprise Assassins Creed: Brotherhood will sell for $39.99.
Wii titles will feature NBA Jam at $29.99, NHL Slapshot at $39.99, for some reason Wheel of Fortune at $14.99, backed up by Jeopardy at $14.99 also, fan favorite GoldenEye shows up at $39.99, Cabela Game Hunter (complete with gun) hits at $19.99, and The Sims 3 for $29.99.
And for those of you in a portable gaming state of mind, the PSP Karate Kid pack goes for $129.99 while the PSP Go comes in at $149.99. And the Nintendo DSI will come in with Mario Party and your choice of green or orange colors for $149.99.
It’s not every day we see games priced so low they can be viably used as stocking stuffers (I remember one year my folks did that after finding a great deal at a video store–it was a sweet Christmas.), but when that happens, it’s a pretty big deal indeed. So if you’re looking for games–for yourself or someone else–Black Friday’s going to have plenty waiting for you, even in the most unlikely places.
