Lenovo IdeaPad U260 Ultra-Portable Notebook Quietly Unveiled

Lenovo IdeaPad U260 Makes A Quite Appearance, Brings 12.5" Display, Core i3 or i5 CPU & 4-Cell Battery

It seems as if Lenovo has added a new ultra-portable device into their notebook lineup. The model is the IdeaPad U260 and while it has not yet been officially announced, we do have a fairly complete set of specs.

And sadly, considering the IdeaPad U260 has simply appeared on the Lenovo website and there has not been an official announcement, we are still waiting on the pricing. That said, the notebook looks like it is going to stand out on at least one point — the size of the display. The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 will come touting a 12.5 inch display. No mention of a specific resolution, though the display was said to be of HD-resolution. Furthermore, the display is sporting an anti-glare finish.

Other specs for the IdeaPad U260 include options for either a Core i3 or Core i5 processor, both of which are ultra-low voltage as well as up to 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, VGA and HDMI outputs and two USB 2.0 ports. And for those looking for an ExpressCard slot, keep looking as the U260 does not have one. As for the overall size, the U260 is 3.04 pounds and has a thickness of 0.71 inches.

The IdeaPad U260 casing is said to be made of magnesium-aluminum alloy and will ship in two colors — Mocha Brown and Clementine Orange. The other missing item from this model includes the optical drive. Of course, depending on who you ask, that may or may not be considered missing. Otherwise, in terms of connections, the only other item that I can see some complaining about is the lack of Display Port, but then again, the VGA is most likely used by many more.

With that, we are left waiting on the price, however it is expected that the U260 will fall in the $1,000 plus price range and given the specs that seems to be fairly realistic.
