EA Disappointed By Medal of Honor, Partly

EA: Medal of Honor Reboot 'Didn't Meet Quality Expectations,' Echoing Feelings of Some Reviewers

So, let’s be honest for a moment. Medal of Honor may have been cool, but in some ways, it certainly wasn’t the game were expecting – or hoping – it would be. In an interview with Eurogamer that mostly focused on Need for Speed and its future, EA’s Patrick Soderlund was asked a couple of questions about Medal of Honor‘s success, and he didn’t seem too comfortable talking about it.

“What I can say is the game didn’t meet our quality expectations. In order to be successful in that space, we’re going to have to have a game that is really, really strong,” he said during the interview. While Medal of Honor didn’t get terrible reviews – it holds a 75 on metacritic.com – those reviews just can’t hold water next to Halo: Reach or Modern Warfar 2. I have to admit, it does seem that Medal of Honor relied too much on the controversy surround it’s release to move copies, and not actually making sure that were treading new ground in the over-saturated FPS market.

Was Medal of Honor a better game than the critics say, or did it really suck? Sound off in the comments below.

It wasn’t as bad as most reviewers suggested.Sure it had a dodgy framerate in places and questionable A.I but Infinity Wards Call Of Duty games suffer from both but Modern Warfare 2 still managed a high score without mention of those 2 flaws picked out in this game. The Campaign was strong and online is alright;something’s not quite right online be it the spawns or the maps I don’t know. You just don’t get the buzz you get whilst playing Black Ops or Bad Company 2.
On that note,Black Ops is better then MW2 in every way: better story, more variety, better balanced, more developer support and more features however it still scored less then Modern Warfare 2.What’s the deal, most reviewers favour Infinity Ward just off the back of them being CoD4 developpers.CoD 4 is great but Modern Warfare 2 was a step backwards online unlike Black Ops.
