Apple Sends iOS 4.2 Golden Master To Developers
There has been much discussion and teasing and even a few disappointments when it comes to the wait for the new iOS 4.2. Most reports have said that the release to the general public sometime this month and a new development yesterday seems to confirm Apple users will see the new iOS before December.

Yesterday Apple released the iOS 4.2 Golden Master to developers. What does this mean for the average consumer? The GM version is usually the last build before the software is shipped out to the public at large. There have been several leaks about what will be in the new iOS 4.2, but we do know that the iPad’s lock button will be turned into a mute button and that AirPlay will be inserted, allowing more functionality between the iPad and Apple TV.
The iOS 4.2 will be applicable to the iPad, the iPhone 4, 3G and 3GS as well as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation iPod Touch.
