Motorola Droid 2 Global & T-Mobile Comet Priced, Not All Release Dates Confirmed Yet

Two of the upcoming Android handsets you should be keeping an eye out for are the Motorola Droid 2 Global, hitting Verizon Wireless stores in the near future, and the T-Mobile Comet, also known as the Huawei Ideos, heading to T-Mobile obviously.

The Motorola Droid 2 Global is very similar to the Motorola Droid 2 but it comes with a faster processor (1.2GHz) and worldphone capabilities. The phone will be available in black and white, and, no matter what color you’ll end up picking, the price is the same, $199.99 with a new two-year contract from Verizon. So if you’re planning to get a Motorola Droid 2 then better wait a while and go for the Motorola Droid 2 Global instead. Unfortunately we don’t have official launch details for you at this time but the phone is supposed to come out this November.

The T-Mobile Comet will cost $149.99, and the phone is launching on November 3, so, just in a few days you’ll be able to get yourself a new T-Mobile Android handset. The Comet is also known as the Huawei Ideos (unfortunately it’s not going to be the Ideos X6 or Ideos X5) and will offer you a vanilla Android 2.2 experience but no 4G support, and by 4G we mean the kind of 4G network T-Mobile is bragging with these days.

Before you consider choosing between the T-Mobile Comet and the Verizon Motorola Droid 2, you should also remember that a few hot Android handsets are going to be unveiled in the very near future: the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Two, expected to be announced on November 8 at a special event in New York, the HTC Incredible HD, rumored to arrive to Verizon in the near future, and the Motorola Droid Terminator / Olympus that’s supposed to hit AT&T and Verizon early next year. So if you’re ready to pay $150-200 for a subsidized Android device, why not wait for one of the new bloods to become official?
