IO Interactive Suffers Second Round Of Job Cuts This Year
IO Interactive, the company responsible for the amazing Hitman series and the not-so-cool Kane & Lynch series, has announced that they have just concluded their second round of layoffs this year. The first round occurred back in March, when the company laid of 35 of their employees, and this time another 30 people got handed the pink slip.

An anonymous source told Kotaku that the less-than-spectacular reception of Kane & Lynch: Dog Days contributed to the decision to layoff the employees. Square Enix then confirmed the layoffs, saying “I can confirm that we have made some internal changes at IO Interactive which has regrettably resulted in the loss of some jobs.”
I don’t want to make this sound trivial, because the losing a job is a heartbreaking and scary experience, but I can’t help but think this could have been easily avoided if the company had ditched plans for Kane & Lynch: Dog Days (especially after the crappy game that was the original Kane & Lynch) and instead pushed ahead with Hitman 5, or hell, even took a risk and made Freedom Fighters 2
