Jax Newest Character Announced In New Mortal Kombat Game

Ed Boon Announces That Jax Will Be Included In Newest Mortal Kombat Video Game, Fan Anticipate Plenty of Head-Clapping

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon confirmed in the most recent episode of GameTrailers TV that fan-favorite Jax will be included in the newest iteration of super bloody game series, due out sometime in 2011. Ed Boon told GTTV that the character will be bigger than ever, and showcased one of his new fatalities, which included the side of some moving subway cars and his opponent’s face.

Jax joins the roster of previously announced characters, including Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Mileena, Nightwolf, Kitana, Cyrax, Sektor, Raiden, Reptile, Shao Kahn, and Scorpion. Boon said that the list will land “somewhere in the 20s,” and unless my capacity for math has been shot since leaving high school, that list rounds out at 13.

No word yet on whether or not we’ll see Mortal Kombat poster boy Liu Kang, or everyone’s favorite cheap-shot dealing temptress Sonya Blade. Given the ridiculous size the list of fighters spanning the series has grown to, though, someone’s going to be disappointed in the end.

Come on Hsu Hao! Or Stryker! Or Meat!
