ZeniMax Media Adds Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks To Their Portfolio [ZeniMax Media Announces the Purchase of Resident Evil Creator Shinji Mikami's Tango Gameworks]
ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, is well on their way to owning every decent game company and franchise out there. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but they announced today that they have bought Tango Gameworks, which is run by Resident Evil and Vanquish directer Shinji Mikami.

“We are very excited to be joining ZeniMax and working with a company that is dedicated to creating the best games ever made,” Mikami said. And indeed, who wouldn’t be excited to join ZeniMax? Not only are companies ZeniMax owns responsible for the successful The Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, but they also own the rights to Doom and Quake, along with id’s Tech 5 engine, which should be showing its chops in the upcoming Bethesda game Rage.
So, while ZeniMax may not be hell bent on video game domination, they’re certainly going on a buying spree and snatching up some really excellent companies and properties.
