T-Mobile Website Hints At Dell-branded Windows 7 Tablet With $600 Price Tag

T-Mobile Galaxy Tab Spec Sheet; Is It A Simple Mistake Or Hints Of A Windows 7 Tablet Coming To T-Mobile?

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab is not going to be the only tablet style device to come available with T-Mobile. Well, that or someone had a case of serious confusion while writing up the spec listing for the Galaxy Tab. And sure, everyone is entitled to make a mistake, and while we hate to simply point out the errors of others — it is fun to speculate every once in a while.

If you head to the T-Mobile website for the Galaxy Tab you will see the image of the Galaxy Tab, which seems a little different as compared to the normal image of the Galaxy Tab. You can see from the above image and the below image they are clearly the same device, but have some variations, they are both on “3″ but the below has the icons removed and the Browser icon on the bottom changed to Web. Furthermore there is an extra little notification icon just in the place where the Wi-Fi indicator used to sit.

But that aside, getting back to those specs, they start out just fine and then get to the operating system — Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition. And they keep up, going on to list a 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150, 160GB hard drive, 6-cell battery, Huawei EM770U module and 10.1 inch display. Clearly, not the Android based Galaxy Tab that we have come to know.

It actually kind of sounds like a netbook. But lets get back to the speculation and fun for a moment.

If you keep reading further down, it looks like the mysterious specs are going to be something Dell branded and cost $150 down with 3 additional $150 monthly payments. Hmm, a Dell device with Windows 7 that could be priced at $600? And we can only assume Dell because the fine print goes on to read;

“Based on Dell Lab testing. Battery life varies by configuration, operating conditions and other factors.”

So, is this a case of T-Mobile just making a mistake, or an early look at a Dell branded Windows 7 tablet? Or more than likely, just a mix up on the spec sheet of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook. Our guess is for the latter, a simple mistake, but as mentioned earlier in the post — it is fun to speculate.
