Sprint Set to Begin Giving New Samsung Epic 4G Owners A $50 Gift Card

The Samsung Media Hub has been discussed more than a few times in the past, basically it is an on-device service that will allow the user to purchase or rent movies and television shows. So far we have seen the Media Hub mentioned in regards to the Epic 4G as well as the Galaxy Tab. That said, for the purpose of this post we are referring to the Epic 4G and more specifically, Sprint.

Basically, it looks like Samsung and Sprint have partnered up for a new Media Hub promotion. And one that could make those who purchase an Epic 4G happy. Well, happy if they plan on using the Media Hub. According to the details we have so far, Sprint is set to begin offering new Epic 4G owners a $50 gift card towards Media Hub purchases.

It looks like this promotion is going to begin this weekend, on October 31st and run through January 8th. Of course, there are some catches with the offer. Aside from making the purchase between the above mentioned dates, the $50 credit will be valid for no more than 60 days. The fine print actually reads that “the code will be valid not later than 60 days from the date when it is first used or until 3/31/11, whichever comes first.”

As for getting the gift card, after you make your purchase Sprint will send you a text message with a 10-digit code that you can enter and use in the Media Hub on your device. The code is noted as coming within 5-7 business days after you make your purchase.

Would this entice me to buy an Epic 4G? Probably not. But at the same time, it may help to push me over the edge should I had been considering one. If nothing else, it will be a few free movies that you can enjoy.

And lastly, although the details that we have seen do not mention the Galaxy Tab, there was some chatter that the tablet may also get involved with this same offer.
