Blizzard Filing Lawsuit Over Televised StarCraft Matches In South Korea
Everyone knows that StarCraft is a huge deal over in South Korea, but it may surprise some to know that StarCraft is so big over there that competitive matches are broadcast on television. Blizzard apparently has a lawsuit in the works against a few different companies in South Korea for broadcasting StarCraft matches after the typical season that was originally agreed upon had ended.

Allegedly, Blizzard cut ties with OnGameNet and MBC Game, two channels allowed to broadcast KeSPA (an electronic sports provider) arranged games because they had found a new partner with which they wanted their games broadcast, but those companies disregarded the termination of the deal.
And yet, while all of this is going down, I still can’t help but be jealous of South Korean gamers. Of course, America’s idea of gaming television (yeah, I’m looking at you G4) pretty much amounts to Cops 2.0. Anyone else remember the good old days of Arena and Judgment Day? Better times…
