Sony To Offer Rewards For Playing PS3
Beginning today, select PlayStation Plus gamers, as well as some gamer advisory panel members will be able to earn certain rewards for using the PS3 consoles. Yesterday, Sony announced a new program, titled PlayStation Rewards that will allow users to earn freebies and other rewards whenever they play games or download content from the PlayStation Network.
Sony has created three reward tiers: Select, Pro and Legendary with the amount of free stuff available obviously increasing when a user progresses from one tier to another. As of now, Sony has not said exactly what the system to determine the tiers will be based on or how many points will be needed to progress from Select to Legendary.
The PlayStation Rewards will remain a pilot program until the spring of 2011 but the company says that when it does become available to the general public it will be entirely free to sign up.
