Samsung Google Nexus Two Gingerbread Smartphone Coming on November 8

Samsung Rumored Again to be the Google Nexus Two Manufacturer, Will It Look Anything Like the Galaxy S?

The Google Nexus Two rumor is getting more and more powerful and, in just a few days, we might see the handset get official. Samsung, as rumored before, is apparently the manufacturer that created the device and we have a first rumored launch date pegged for November 8.

Before the Google Nexus Two news came along we heard that Samsung is working on a new smartphone, a handset ready to run Android Gingerbread and impress the crowds with interesting Tegra 2 capabilities. Now that handset appears to be the Nexus Two.

The Samsung Google Nexus Two will apparently be the first handset in the world to ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and on November 8 a joint Google-Samsung press event will unveil the device in New York City.

November is getting closer and closer and we’re definitely interested to see this baby come out especially as we need new hot Android handsets to come out right before the holidays, don’t we, Android fans?

Considering the success Samsung had with the Galaxy S in various markets, it’s really not a surprise to see Google pick this manufacturer to make the new Google Nexus Two handset. HTC made the first Nexus One and we all know the handset was a PR disaster in the first months of 2010 as it had various issues that neither Google nor HTC could fix, particularly related to 3G support. Not that HTC or Motorola can’t build dependable Android handsets, because they really can, but Samsung just seems to be the better choice here.

Samsung will want to sell this Google Nexus Two in as many units as possible, but will that be really possible? According to the Google Nexus Two story we ran a few days ago Google still wants to keep carriers out of the whole Nexus Two buying process and offer the handset straight to consumers. That means higher prices and no subsidized deals, doesn’t it? And so far the only exclusive Google Nexus Two partner seems to be UK’s Carphone Warehouse, but what about the rest of the world?
