Samsung Galaxy Tab Pricing Officially Announced For O2 [O2 Galaxy Tab Will Be Available November 1st & Sell Contract Free For £599]
The O2 website still has the Samsung Galaxy Tab listed on the coming soon style page, however that should be changing sooner rather than later. The Android tablet is set to launch this Monday, which is November 1st. And as of this morning, for better or worse, O2 has officially announced the price.

Without further adieu, the Galaxy Tab is priced at £599. Just a bit on the pricey side, though we should point out that comes without any long term contracts. Of course, on the flip side, those in the US who felt the $599 price tag with Verizon was on the high side may want to reconsider as that £599 is roughly $950 in terms of US dollars. Suddenly the Verizon price seems more than fair.
Moving on though, as mentioned the Galaxy Tab is available contract free from O2 and will be able to take advantage of the Pay & Go Mobile Broadband tariffs, which will include the Starter kit with 2GB of transfer and free Wi-Fi at The Cloud and BT Openzone hotspots.
Otherwise, for those customers of O2 still set on getting a Galaxy Tab tablet and not going broke — we would suggest checking with Amazon first. At present they have it listed for £529.99, which is still not ideal but certainly better sounding as compared to £599. Needless to say, the price with Amazon could still change between now and Monday.
Touching on the O2 announcement for a moment, perhaps the funniest part about this is how they made a few attempts to lighten things up with jokes stating that “with our new Starter Kit and O2 Gurus on hand in store, this tablet definitely isn’t a bitter pill to swallow” and how “picking up the tab is never usually a good thing, but this is definitely one Tab to get.” Well, certainly, this looks to be a good Tab, but not a cheap tab.
With that, the Galaxy Tab will be available (Monday morning) at select stores and also online.
