Playstation 3 To Sell Without Move, 320 Gig Hard Drive For $350
I don’t know about you, but I’m among the folks fighting the weird new movement (no pun intended) to make video games an impact sport. Sure, I enjoy a little Dance Dance Revolution every now and again (even if they change the songs a little too often for my taste–is it so hard to keep the Lupin the 3rd theme and Boom Boom Dollar in one place?) but for the most part, I play video games to relax, not to exercise! And Sony saw people like me coming with their new pricing plan for the Playstation 3.

The new offering–which will apparently be one of many–is for those of us who don’t want to turn arcades into gyms, and would rather keep movement out of the equation. Thus, Sony’s looking to keep us sedentary gamers satisfied by offering, among other plans, a Playstation 3, without the Move add-on, and with a 320 gig hard drive for $350.
This actually represents a slight savings over the bundle with the Move; the Move bundle, that comes with controller, PlayStation Eye, and Sports Champions sells for $400. And we all probably know by now about the $300 package with the 160 gig hard drive, and frankly, if you’re going to spend $300 on a gaming system anyway, you might just as well save your pennies for a couple more weeks and get the doubled hard drive for just $50 more.
In fact, it’s actually a bit interesting when you look at that pricing scheme; the Move, with PlayStation Eye and a game, is just $50 more than the whole setup without, which means Sony is practically falling all over itself to get you to get a Move controller. Is Sony feeling the breath of Kinect on the back of its neck? After all, there have been some unkind words from Sony about the device, and surely they’ve heard about Microsoft’s big ad blitz.
Speculative, I know–the key takeaway here is that Playstation 3 bundles are coming out in various sizes and densities just in time for holiday shopping.
