White iPhone 4 Delayed to Spring 2011; Did Steve Jobs Lie? [Apple Announces White iPhone 4 Won’t be Available This Christmas, Maybe It’ll Come Next Year Unless Canceled for Good]

Earlier today we saw that the white iPhone 4 made it into Apple’s next version of its Apple Store application and we all assumed the phone will indeed arrive in stores by Christmas, just as Apple’s own Steve Jobs said, in a previous email, earlier this year.

In fact, just recently we’ve seen a white iPhone 4 captured in the wild, and while the person holding it did say that Apple still has white coloration issues with the devices he or she never mentioned launch dates.

And now we hear that Apple confirmed to the press that the white iPhone 4, the unicorn handset, is not going to be available until next spring. And here’s the official press release email quote announcing it:

We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until this Spring.

So what’s the problem this time? Isn’t the white iPhone 4 white enough for Steve Jobs & Co. yet? The phone was supposed to arrive at some point this summer then it was pushed back and we were told it’s coming by Christmas and now this! What’s the point of buying a white iPhone 4 in, say, April or May 2011 when the iPhone 5 is going to come in two more months?

In case you want an iPhone 4 you should definitely go for one right now as the white version you want might never arrive. Sure Apple is saying that Spring 2011 is going to bring us the device, but what if they decide to postpone it or even cancel it and focus on a white iPhone 5 instead?

The iPhone 4, despite selling in so many units and bringing lots of cash to Cupertino, has failed us at least three times: the Antennagate, the mildly covered Gategate and the white iPhone 4 unicorn. So is the iPhone 4 a flawed design that’s still making people buy it like crazy?

And most importantly, did Steve Jobs lie about the arrival of the white iPhone 4?
