White iPhone 4 Canceled? Let’s Blame It On the Camera Too? [Unofficial Rumors Say Apple Will Postpone the White iPhone 4 Indefinitely as Coloration Issues Affect Camera]
Yesterday we heard that the white iPhone 4 has been postponed for spring 2011, and we already suspected the device might be canceled, as there’s really no point trying to successfully sell it in the months that will precede the announcement of the next-gen iPhone 5.

But today the plot thickens as new sources say Apple is playing a poker game with consumers at this point. Cupertino will not launch the white iPhone 4 in spring 2011 and will postpone it again to the point where selling the white iPhone 4 will not be feasible anymore. Instead Apple will probably focus on the white next-gen iPhone 5 although if the design stays the same, chances are that coloration issues will affect white iPhone 5 units too.
Speaking about white coloration, it looks like that’s not the most important problem of the white iPhone 4. Besides not being able to paint the glass panels in a white that would match the home button, an issue we’re familiar with already, it seems that this whole mess affects the way the camera of the iPhone 4 performs. Light is leaked through the case and this particular problem affects the quality of the pictures.
The iPhone 4 has a 5-megapixel camera with Flash, HDR support and HD video recording. In other words the device can offer you some great pictures while on the go, not to mention videos. So you don’t have to be a camera expert to realize that once light leaks in the device, that’s made of glass, the kind of material that allows light to sneak through it, you’ll end up with some ruined photos. That’s definitely against Apple’s way of doing things, not to mention that if all this is true then selling such a flawed white iPhone 4 will bring a new iPhone-related scandal back to Apple, a Cameragate if you will. And Cupertino certainly doesn’t want any of that anymore, do they?
