Vodafone UK Now Offering Nokia N8, HTC Desire HD [English Mobile Carrier Now Offering Giant-Sized Android Phone And New Flagship Symbian Phone For Their Customers]
If you live in the United Kingdom and are a customer of Vodafone (or are willing to switch to Vodafone), great news for you. The carrier is now carrying the Nokia N8 and HTC Desire HD smartphones. As many readers are surely aware, the Nokia N8 is the newest Symbian smartphone from Nokia while the HTC Desire HD is a copy of the HTC EVO 4G that hit America, and it’s a 4.3-inch monster sized Android phone.

One advantage to buying the Nokia N8 from Vodafone is that you can get the Vodafone-exclusive green N8. We find it a dreadful color, but if it’s your style, then you can only get it from Vodafone. The Nokia N8 had been available on Orange in the UK, but has of last week, it’s arrived on Vodafone. Vodafone is giving the phone away with a £30 monthly tariff on a two-year contract. That’s the starting tariff (300 minutes, 500MB, unlimited text).
The HTC Desire HD has been out in various forms in the UK too, including SIM-free. But, it’s really expensive if you buy it contract-free in the UK, so you may want to consider getting it from Vodafone on contract. They’re also giving it away for free with a £35 monthly tariff for two-years. That is the lowest tariff, but oddly, if you order it online you’ll get more minutes and data usage with the lowest tariff being offered. They’re offering 900 minutes and 750MB for the 35 pounds if you order online, but only 600 minutes and 500MB if you buy it in a retail store. Is Vodafone trying to shift demand for the phone away from retail locations, or is this something they do regularly?
