Samsung Mesmerize Now Available With US Cellular, Priced After Rebate At $199.99 [Samsung Mesmerize Arrives With US Cellular, Brings 4" Display, 1GHz CPU, 5MP Camera & Android 2.1]

US Cellular made the official announcement earlier in the month, however the good news is that as of today the Samsung Mesmerize smartphone is available for purchase. Of course, as many will recognize, the Mesmerize is simply another Galaxy S branded phone.

That said, the other Galaxy S models seem to have been doing well on the four major US carriers, of which Verizon has the Fascinate, T-Mobile has the Vibrant, AT&T has the Captivate and Sprint has the QWERTY keyboard packing Epic 4G.

But getting back on track, the Samsung Mesmerize and US Cellular. The handset is available as of today and comes with a $199.99 price tag. And we should point out, that price comes AFTER an $80 mail in rebate, which means you will need to shell out $279.99 on the day of purchase and then sit back and wait for your $80 to arrive in the form of a Visa debit card.

Otherwise, not much else surprising here, however given the focus of Samsung has shifted from the Galaxy S line of phones to the Galaxy Tab line of tablets a quick recap on the specs seems in order. With that, the Samsng Mesmerize will feature a 4 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot and a 5 megapixel camera with flash and video recording. In addition, the Mesmerize is running Android 2.1 and comes equipped with the goodies from Google such as the Android Market as well as some others including the Swype virtual keyboard. And last but not least, the Samsung Mesmerize will ship with a 16GB microSD card.

It seems this release just leaves Cellular South as the last that have announced a Galaxy S branded phone and have not yet made it available. At present, the Cellular South website is still reflecting a “coming holidays 2010″ timeframe with nothing more specific.
