Nintendo Comes in Dead Last In Greenpeace Report

Nintendo Ranks Last On List of Environmentally Friendly Electronics Companies, Greenpeace Report States; Microsoft Not Far Behind

All of our more environmentally friendly readers may have a reason to ditch the Wii and go with something else. According to a new report released by Greenpeace, Nintendo placed last in an evaluation of environmentally friendly electronics companies. Nintendo was given a score of 1.8 out of 10, which was essentially given to the company for failing to report on reduction of e-waste and and policies concerning greenhouse gases.

But hey, when you’re dominating the video game market and converting millions of people to the ways of the Wii, who has time to worry about eco-friendliness? Microsoft came in just a bit better than Nintendo, scoring a 2.9 out of ten, and Sony is apparently the game company to beat in this race – they scored a 5.1 out of ten. All in all, Sony’s score isn’t that great, but when you compare it to Nintendo and Microsoft’s scores, it makes Sony look like Gods of green technology.
