Kingdom Under Fire II Delayed on Xbox 360 Due to Xbox Live Policies
Fans have been waiting for a true Kingdom Under Fire game on the Xbox 360 for a while now (Circle of Doom doesn’t count), and it appears they may have to wait a bit longer. Originally slated for a release this year, Kingdom Under Fire II has now been delayed until holiday 2011 at the earliest, and KUF fans have Microsoft to thank for that. Due to their Xbox Live MMO policy, which isn’t exactly clear, KUFII is hitting some roadblocks, even though game director Sang Youn-Lee told Eurogamer that the system was already complete.

I couldn’t track down exactly what the policy states, but this delay pretty much amounts to one of two things: either Microsoft doesn’t want to give access to the MMO to those with a Silver Membership, regardless of if they pay the monthly fee, or Microsoft wants a cut of the profits developer Blueside will make from charging monthly fees in the first place.
This is also the same policy that caused Cryptic to cancel the Xbox 360 version of Champions Online and is the reason Final Fantasy XIV hasn’t been announced for 360 yet (and also the reason why it probably won’t be).
