Windows Phone 7 in Germany? Not Until November [T-Mobile Germany Not To Release A WP7 Until November, Way After The Rest Of The European Release Date]
October 21st was the official launch day for Windows Phone 7 in Europe. One European country who didn’t get WP7 on October 21st? Only the richest. T-Mobile Germany will not be carrying two Windows Phone 7 devices until November, the HTC 7 Mozart and Samsung Omnia 7 will be offered by the carrier weeks after the official launch, in November.

According to T-Mobile Germany’s website, the carrier will begin sell the HTC 7 Mozart on November 3rd. The Samsung Omnia 7 has been earmarked for Germany, too, but no date has been announced other than “mid-November”. No reasons for why Germany is getting the short-end of the stick have been given. Germany is of course, T-Mobile’s home turf as the magenta carrier is a subsidiary of Germany landline provider Deutsche Telekom.
T-Mobile isn’t the only carrier in Germany, of course (though it is the biggest), but other carriers providing service in Germany (O2 and Vodafone) haven’t announced plans to carry WP7 phones in Germany.
Just to briefly recap the phones that Germany is getting, the HTC 7 Mozart comes with a 3.7-inch screen, 1GHz processor, slate-style device. The Samsung Omnia 7, coming later to Germany, seems to be a lot of folks favorite out of the initial batch of WP7 devices, it’s got the that huge 4.0-inch OLED screen.
Why is Germany missing the WP7 fun? What’s going on here? Tell us your take in the comments section.
