Office For Mac 2011 Now Available For Purchase [Microsoft On The Mac: Office For Mac 2011 Now Available & Priced From $109.99]

Amazon had previously hinted October 26th as the launch day for Office for Mac 2011 and coming just as expected, the software is now available for purchase. Of course, this latest release has (at least) one thing going for it that may be considered a good reason to upgrade — Outlook.

Yes, it seems as if Entourage haters have finally gotten their wish and Office for Mac 2011 is now sporting Outlook as opposed to Entourage for their email and calendar needs. In addition, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are included in the latest version of Office for the Mac. Personally I have never been an Outlook guy, but at the same time this seems like a well overdue addition, after all, Outlook sort of is Office.

One word of caution though, those looking for Outlook will need to get the Home & Business Edition as the Home & Student Edition only includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Another difference between the two versions comes in the form of tech support, the Home & Student Edition offers 90 days and the Home & Business Edition comes with a full year.

Anyway, as for pricing, there are a few options available and getting the best price will depend on where you shop. You can head on over to the Microsoft website and shell out $149.99 or $279.99 for the Home & Student or Home & Business edition respectively. Or for those a little more concerned about price, you can shop with Amazon and pay $109.99 or $174.99 for the same software.

Additionally, Amazon has a three license Family Pack of the Home & Student Edition for $129.99 and a two license pack of the Home & Business Edition for $239.99. Seems a no brainer when you consider the pricing, shop with Amazon and you can get a Home & Student Edition Family Pack for $20 less than you can get a single license pack direct from Microsoft
