New Wi-Fi Can Connect Devices Without Hotspot
A new type of Wi-Fi connection will allow users to connect from one Wi-Fi device to another without the need for being in the vicinity of a Hotspot. Wi-Fi Direct, which the Wi-Fi alliance began certifying yesterday, will allow any devices that have the Wi-Fi Direct technology installed to communicate with each other much easier.

This Wi-Fi printer will be Wi-Fi Direct ebabled
The Wi-Fi Alliance is a trade organization made up of over 350 different electronic and service provider companies spanning around the globe. According to the Alliance, Wi-Fi Direct technology can be put into any wireless internet enabled device meaning that at some point you can send pictures from your Wi-Fi Direct camera to your Wi-Fi Direct printer or play your PSP or Nintendo DS with your friend without needing the aid of a wireless internet connection.
The Alliance says that Wi-Fi Direct is both cheap and secure, and that the speed of devices and surfing using this new technology will be the same as a typical network connection.
