SCVNGR Updates Android & iPhone App With Better Features

Location-Based SCVNGR iPhone & Android App With Better UI & Functionality

SCVNGR, the location based Android and iPhone app has been updated to version 3.5, code-named “Vulcan.” This updated version of the game will feature better functionality, not to mention a better, well, everything. SCVNGR 3.5 now offers five new features including a better dashboard, Activity Stream 2.0, Social Maps, commenting and rewards.

Most notably revamped is the way the dashboard and the Friend Feed are arranged. The dashboard is rearranged to group various functions into what they are calling “buckets.” These buckets include the Friend Feed, Places, Settings, and other functions.

The Friend Feed itself features all the usual activities, but they are now sectioned off into their own groups. Even the Friend Feed functions are now grouped together differently and include the check-in function, challenge function, and photos. The Friend Feed groups are now based on the user’s activity and the place from which he used the Friend Feed functions.

The SCVNGR app integrates well with Facebook’s Places application and makes using it even more fun. Both the SCVNGR iPhone and Android OS apps are available free from the Android Market and Apple iTunes; enjoy!
