GPS Enabled SyFy Ghost Hunters iPhone App Released in Time for Halloween
The SyFy channel’s ever-popular Ghost Hunters television show now has an iPhone app available for immediate download, according to a press release. Released just in time for Halloween, the Ghost Hunters iPhone app coincides with this year’s six-hour Annual Ghost Hunters live television event, which also takes place on Halloween.

The iPhone app is not only for Halloween, although it does make the holiday a bit more fun. Using GPS to determine where the user is located, it then recommends restaurants, hotels and other attractions the user might find interesting.
The SyFy Ghost Hunters app also provides a detailed historical account of each location, including any ghost related history as provided by previous Ghost Hunters investigations.
Some haunted locations include The Stanley Hotel, in which the movie “The Shining” was based on, Lizzie Borden’s House, Alcatraz Island and 100 other “certified” haunted locations.
Every time the Ghost Hunters team investigates a location, the app automatically adds the results to its database of haunted locations.
Additional features of the SyFy Ghost Hunters iPhone app include direct integration with Foursquare and the ability for app users to leave messages with ghost hunters. It is available now from iTunes for $0.99, so users do not have to wait until Halloween to use it.
