Free Walgreen’s Mobile Android App Reads Barcodes for Instant Refills

Walgreen’s Android App Instantly Refills Users’ Prescriptions with Camera

Walgreen’s is known for making their customers’ lives easier with iOS apps allowing them to chat with a pharmacist and refill prescriptions from their iPhone by entering a prescription number. However, the company’s current iPhone apps do not scan barcodes, so it is entirely possible for someone to enter the wrong number, thus ensuring that when the customer goes to the store to pick up their prescription, it is not available yet.

The new Walgreen’s Mobile Android app does scan barcodes, meaning never again will an Android user face a hard time when showing up at the counter to receive his refill. Simply taking a photo of the prescription barcode allows the Walgreen’s Mobile Android app to scan it and order the refill.

Also available from this new Android App is the ability for users to order photos, locate Walgreen’s locations offering flu shots, and even search out bargains on merchandise. While the Android app is not yet available from Walgreen’s Mobile website, it is available for download from the Android Market and other third party websites.
