Palm Pre 2 Expected To Arrive In Canada By Way Of Rogers
Palm fans had a bit of good news yesterday (and I do say good news with a little sarcasm) in that the Palm Pre 2 was officially unveiled. Though personally I am more anxious for the roll-out of webOS 2.0 for existing Palm users. Anyway, that announcement came the release details, which for the most part were fairly generic.

According to the press release; the Palm Pre 2 was going to be available with SFR France as of this Friday and then with Verizon Wireless in the US and Canada “in the coming months.” Thankfully, they were at least kind enough to give those in the US a little bit more in terms of which carrier to expect, but those in Canada were not quite as lucky.
With that, we do have the Internet and that means those who like to dig up the dirt. Bottom line here, a forum member from Howard Forums has uncovered a nice little clue — from the official Palm website. Or more specifically, from the source code of the Canadian Palm website.
The few key portions of the source code include;
“The Palm Pre2 phone is available on the Rodger’s network”
As well as the “Carrier” being “Rodgers” and that the phone was “Coming soon.” Of course, it is hard to pass the fact that they seem to have misspelled Rogers, writing Rodger’s. But either way, the “Coming Soon” and the “Palm Pre2 phone is available on the Rodger’s network” portions seem to make it rather clear. With that, we are left wondering when it will arrive, or at the very least when Rogers and Palm are going to make this official. The other little bit of evidence supporting this find was the recent FCC listings which were covering a CDMA and GSM version of the Pre 2. And that GSM version had support for the North America 3G bands.
