EA Buys Out People Behind Angry Birds
Almost a couple of months had gone by without EA buying some company or other and their cash throwing arm was falling asleep, so they decided to stretch it a bit with a (comparative) drop in the bucket of $20 million for Chillingo, Angry Birds and Cut The Rope publisher extraordinaire. Judging from the amount of press it’s gotten in the past few months, we figure $20 million is probably what Angry Birds made just from the myopic left-handed Albanian soccer player demographic, but we like our economics just the way we like our Michael Pachter, hyperbolic and nonsensical, so we probably aren’t any sort of judge.

Reportedly, after negotiations were completed the EA representative was going to ask for Chillingo’s bank details to transfer the money, but in the end he just emptied out his change purse on Chillingo’s meeting table and left. That being said, we can only wish everyone involved the best and hope the Playfish guys will let Chillingo sit with them in the EA cafeteria.
