Verizon Wireless Rumored To Launch The Droid 2 Global, Droid Pro, Motorola Citrus & Palm Pre 2 On November 11th
It looks like current Verizon customers, and those willing to switch have a big release day to look forward to in the not-to-distant future. That date is November 11th and it looks like we may see the introduction of five new smartphones including some Android and some webOS.

Well, more accurately four Android and one webOS. That said, I am sure many of the faithful TFTS readers will likely be able to guess the webOS model — the Palm Pre 2. Not much to say about this one, however given the Palm Pre Plus dropped out of stock with Verizon back on October 15th, a November 11th release of the Pre 2 seems more than fitting.
With the webOS model out of the way, lets move over to the Android models. This bunch includes the Motorola Citrus and the HTC Merge as well as the Droid 2 Global and the Droid Pro.
Breaking these down a bit, lets begin with the Motorola Citrus, this handset is more for the entry-level crowd and will feature Android 2.1 and is touted as being made from 25 percent post-consumer recycled plastic as well as being certified Carbon Free and VC and BFR free.
Moving on we have the HTC Merge, which is not only a little more exciting as compared to the Citrus, but also much more discussed up until this point. Of course, we do have the great question surrounding the Merge and Bing that we need some definitive answers on.
Lastly, the Droid 2 Global and the Droid Pro. The Droid 2 Global is fairly well known at this point and will feature many of the same specs as the current Droid 2. Well, aside from the world phone capabilities and the faster processor. Given that, it sounds like the Droid 2 Global will be enough to upset some Droid 2 early adopters. And then the Droid Pro, personally this is the most interesting of the bunch given the form factor — a touchscreen display with a hardware QWERTY keyboard sitting below. It should be interesting the see the reaction once the Droid Pro is actually available for purchase.
With that, here is to hoping the rumored November 11th launch date is accurate.
