World Wide Tablet Sales Expected to Pass 20 Million in 2010
Technology research company Gartner says that Tablet PC sales will top the 20 million unit mark before the end of 2010 and that particular area will grow to the point where it will see three times that many sales next year.

The iPad, of course is the market leader with a reported 3 million units sold during the first three months it was on the market. Industry insiders say that the number of iPads sold has increased at a steady clip with anywhere from 3.8 to 6 million copies being sold in the fourth quarter of 2010.
The market growth of the Tablet PC isn’t supposed to be a one year wonder either. After an expected tripling in 2011 to over 50 million units sold that number should quadruple by 2014 to an incredible 208 million tablets sold. While Apple has clearly led the crowd in this area, and should continue to lead with the rumored release of the iPad 2 early in 2011, tablets with WebOS and Android operating systems are also on the market, with RIM (makers of the Blackberry tech) set to jump into the fray next year.
