BlackBerry Style 9670 Flip-Phone Officially Unveiled by RIM, Heading To Sprint

We have seen the previous leaks and rumors, not to mention the listing with Sprint. With that, we now have the official announcement — the BlackBerry Style 9670 is coming to Sprint and will be available as of the end of the month.

Yup, RIM has officially announced the BlackBerry Style 9670 which is the clamshell styled handset that is sporting BlackBerry 6 (the first for Sprint) and a full hardware QWERTY keyboard. First things first though, the BlackBerry Style will be available as of October 31st for those willing — pre-orders will be available as of October 19th.

“The new BlackBerry Style smartphone is a feature rich, premium BlackBerry smartphone that makes the perfect choice for Sprint customers who love the flip form factor but want advanced smartphone features and a full QWERTY keyboard.”

The BlackBerry Style is going to arrive with a $99.99 price tag, and as you would have likely guessed, that means a two year agreement. In addition, that price comes after a $100 mail in rebate. One other item to note in regards to the availability. The Style is going to be available in two colors, Steel Grey and Royal Purple. The Steel Grey will be available as noted above and the Royal Purple will follow “in November.”

Otherwise, lets move on and cover the specs. The Style 9670 has a 2.7 inch (360 x 400) QVGA internal display, a 2 inch (240 x 320) QVGA external display, 624MHz processor, 512MB internal storage, microSD card slot with 8GB card included, 1150 mAh battery and a full QWERTY keyboard with optical trackpad.

In addition you can also expect to find Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and a 5 megapixel camera with 2x zoom, auto-focus, flash and video recording.There is also the dedicated camera key that will allow you to snap pictures with the handset open or closed. Lastly, you can also expect to find access to the BlackBerry App World as well as pre-installed apps such as YouTube and a Podcast app.
