Samsung Galaxy Tab In Russia: On Sale Today For The Rich
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is now on sale in Russia. The Android tablet which had previously gone on sale in Germany, hits Russia with a very steep price tag for the unlocked contract -free version of the tablet.

Russia’s second biggest mobile phone retailer, Svyaznoy, will be the exclusive home of the Galaxy Tab, which can be used as a telephone in every country except for the United States (Samsung has disabled the telephony abilities of the Galaxy Tab in the US, much to the chagrin of some Americans).
As mentioned, the unlocked contract-free price for the Galaxy Tab is steep. Svyaznoy is asking 36,990 Rubles ($1,224) for the Tab, which has got to make it one of the most expensive places to get the Galaxy Tab. No word on if any contacts or subsidies will be offered eventually by Russian carriers to lower the price for the consumer. Russian oil magnates can get their Galaxy Tabs as it goes on sale at Svyaznoy stores at 5pm today.
In addition to Mother Russia and Germany, you can expect the Galaxy Tab to arrive shortly in the UK, Italy, Spain and Sweden as far as European countries go. South Korea, the United States and other countries will also be getting it, all with prices cheaper than Russia, we hope.
