Palm Pre Plus Goes "Out Of Stock" With Verizon
We have watched the Palm Pre Plus continue to drop in price with Verizon and at some point during those price drops they also began throwing in the Mobile Hotspot service for free. That of course, was most likely done in effort to get people to buy the phone. And then we began seeing the rumors involving the Palm Pre 2.

So far those rumors have included everything from images and basic specs to model numbers and most recently — it made an appearance in the Verizon VZLearn employee training system.
With that, we have one more bit to add into the ‘Palm Pre 2 is coming to Verizon in October’ rumor mill — the Palm Pre Plus is now out of stock. Yup, a quick visit to the Verizon Wireless website will confirm the lack of availability.

But, does that mean the Palm Pre Plus is simply out of stock? Maybe say, due to lack of inventory. Or is this a case of getting rid of the old to make room for the new? Personally I am hoping for the latter. That said, it is easy for me to want to believe because I am still what some would consider a current Palm fanboy.
Then again, there is another strange occurrence with the Pre Plus listing on Verizon. If you remember back to early-September, you will remember that Verizon dropped the price of the Pre Plus down to the magical number of free. Well, the website is now showing the phone priced at $49.99. Nonetheless, free or $49.99 I suppose it does not really matter considering it is out of stock.
And despite hoping this means that the Pre 2 may be coming, even as a Palm fanboy I will not be giving up my Pre Plus because I am not giving up the free Mobile Hotspot that I have with it.
