Michael Pachter Back Tracks On Steam Trade-in Statement

Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Takes Back Steam Trade-in Statement

To absolutely nobody’s surprise ever, turns out Michael Pachter is full of it. It in this case being hasty denials and vague hand-waving. Pachter was quoted yesterday as saying “Steam’s about to let you do that supposedly – you know, like trade and exchange – but they’re going to take a fee from it,”. Today he said “I saw the headlines yesterday, and honestly don’t remember saying that Steam would sponsor trade-ins”.

Now we don’t know about you, but if we’d have given an interview that ended up splattered all over the Internet due to an exaggeration, our next act as rockstar analyst and mobile phone owner would have been to call up the first game journalist out of the fifty or so in our address book and set the record straight before the people we’re making stuff up about do it for us.

Maybe he was busy discussing Nintendo’s implementation of Apple App Store support for the 3DS with some reporter and Valve’s Doug Lombardi just beat him to it. What do we know, we got our rockstar analyst diploma in the mail.
