Duke Nukem 3D Unreal-Powered Fan Remake Is a Go

Gearbox Gives Green Light To Duke Nukem 3D Fan Remake

Cleverly making no mention of his true agenda, HD stripper boobies, the author of the tongue-in-cheekily (we hope) titled Duke Nukem: Next Gen “contacted George Broussard and Scott Miller [of original Duke Nukem creator 3D Realms], to start a conversation about the project,”.

Not content with the mere rousing of the George Broussard, he pressed onward: “Thinking that Gearbox might have a better relationship to Take-Two than 3D Realms, I contacted AdamF, who passed me through to PJ Putnam, vice president and general counsel of Gearbox Software.”

And wouldn’t you know it, in a completely selfless act: “Luckily Gearbox was interested in supporting the project, which resulted in a personal non-commercial license to Duke Nukem.” But what possible reason could Gearbox have to give away even a non-commercial licence to someone who just asks nicely? “Suddently [sic] the “News” of a Next-Gen remake, was all over the internet, even though the development wasnt approved by either Gearbox or 3Drealms.” They’re just really nice and helpful I guess.
