Next Apple Event Revealed: "Back To The Mac"
Some press outlets are now receiving invitations to Apple’s next press event. It’s dubbed “Back To The Mac” and includes an image of a Lion hiding behind a rotating Apple logo (see below). Giving Apple’s knack for naming versions of Mac OS X after big cats, everybody and their mother expects it to be about Mac OS X 10.7 “Lion?”

As our colleagues at Engadget wrote, it isn’t too soon to start hearing about the next version of Mac OS X. Apple unveiled information about Snow Leopard a full 12 months before it released. It’s pretty obvious that Apple’s focus has been on iPhones, iPads and iOS lately, so it’s a bit refreshing to see them go “Back To The Mac”.
What can we expect from the new version of Mac OS X? Rumors of iOS hitting the desktops and laptops has been thrown around before. We doubt it, but it would sure make for a hell of a show. What about a 11.6-inch MacBook Air? The current stock of the MacBook Air computers has allegedly been drying up in Apple Stores, leading to speculation that Apple is preparing to introduce a new model.
In addition to the MacBook Air, it’s also been a while since the MacBook Pro has received a refresh. Will Apple be unveiling a new slew of portable Macs?
The event is being held October 20th, at 12pm EST time. As always, TFTS will be covering any news coming out of the event along with instant analysis. Keep us in your RSS readers for latest.
