The Redeye Mini Dongle Survives Recall, Heads Back to Market

After Not Much Out of Redeye Since July, New Word Hits Saying The Device Is Back

Remember the Redeye Mini dongle? The thing that would like you turn your Apple gear–iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad–into a universal remote that could handle anything with a remote in the house? Well, it got recalled not long after release, but the Redeye Mini has survived, and after a note of refurbishing, the newly-redesigned device is back, baby!

Basically, what we described earlier has come to pass–the ill-advised change in manufacturing has been overcome, the devices have been revamped accordingly, and now they’re back on the market, bigger, badder, and ready for action.

They’re still $49 if you want to get one, and if you’ve got a lot of remotes in your house you’ll almost certainly want to consider this one. Just plug the Redeye Mini Dongle into one of your three listed Apples, and boom!–you’ll be able to use the new remote to hook into basically anything that works on a remote.

Kudos to Thinkflood for keeping up with the recalls, and hopefully, sales will be brisk.
