Samsung Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Specs & Features Now Official

Samsung Unveils (Again) the Omnia 7 WP7 Handset For the Masses

Earlier today Samsung let the Omnia 7 slip a few hours before actual launch. Now that the Microsoft and AT&T show in New York is over, we have the official details of the handset, and, from the looks of it, the Omnia 7 is going to be an European deal while the Focus is going to head to AT&T’s customers.

The Omnia 7 will come with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 1GHz processor and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and HD video recording, Wi-Fi n, 3G HSPA and, naturally Windows Phone 7 in the background. The phone will come with Xbox Live and Zune features and with plenty of social networking support, just like any other Windows Phone 7 smartphone and will be available at some point in time for the holidays.

We know that the Focus will cost $199.99 when purchased with a new 2-year contract from AT&T, but we don’t have any pricing details for the Omnia 7 just yet. Carriers like Orange, SFR, Movistar and T-Mobile are probably going to take this baby to European glory in markets like the UK, France, Spain and Germany, provided that the masses fall in love with Windows Phone 7, and, of all the available creations, with the Omnia 7 in particular.

The Omnia 7 doesn’t look like the flagship device one would expect from Samsung, especially considering its predecessors, not to mention Samsung’s recent Android best seller, the Galaxy S. But the device could soon grow in the hearts of Windows Phone 7 fans, so we’ll certainly follow its progress.

In the mean time, if the Omnia 7 is not your favorite WP7 handset yet then make sure you browse our pages to read all about the HTC, Dell and LG handsets that became official today, and there surely are plenty of devices to consider if shopping for Windows Phone 7 smartphones.
