Special Red Nintendo Wii Coming To Japan Only
A few weeks ago, we told you about the special edition Nintendo DSi models that were coming to Japan. They were bright red and featured special Mario lively and were celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Now, Nintendo is following up with an additional special edition console, this time its the Nintendo Wii, which will come in special colors.

Those “special colors” being just red. We’re actually a bit disappointed. The two special 25th Anniversary DSi’s came with special Mario 25th branding and logos. It was subtle, but still a nice touch. The press images released by Nintendo Japan appear to show the red Nintendo Wii as just a Wii, except it’s red.
What the new Mario 25th Wii does include is the new WiiRemote Plus controllers, which has the WiiMotion Plus add-on integrated inside of the remote. Also included, is a copy of the 25th Anniversary edition of Super Mario Bros, which is the original game except the gold coin bricks saying “25″ on them.
What’s notable about these little special edition Wiis is that it’s one of the rare times that Nintendo breaks out one of the special Wii colors. So far, they’ve been sticking to white, or the recently released “Sexy Black” Wii. (I’m sure that’s what Nintendo calls it).
As with any of these special awesome bundles from Nintendo or Sony, don’t expect them to come to the United States. If you feel like dropping a pretty penny, you could have them imported.
