Cowon X7 Portable Media Player Comes Available -- In South Korea, Leaves Some In The US Hoping
We have a little bit of good news and bad news for anyone that may have been hopeful after the Cowon X7 made the FCC appearance back in August. Though the good and bad may be fairly obvious. With that, the Cowon X7 PMP has officially come available — for those in South Korea.

Of course, not having anything in terms of a US release date is not all that surprising just yet. After all, the Cowon X7 has been rumored since back to sometime in 2007. In other words, it has been kicking around for a long time. That and, Cowon products generally see a release outside of the US before coming to the US. Plus, the FCC approval was likely for an intended release. Lets just hope that happens sooner than later.
Moving on though, the Cowon X7 has arrived sporting features to include a 4.3 inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth 3.0, FM tuner, TV-out, built-in speaker and a web browser and RSS reader. Though strangely, no mention of Wi-Fi in the feature list. As for storage, there are a few options available including 80GB, 120GB and 160GB. And keep in mind, these are hard drives, not flash storage.
Otherwise, the X7 was noted as having up to 103 hours of music playback, up to 10 hours of video playback, support for file formats to include DivX as well as pre-installed apps for dictionaries, note-taking and general utilities such as a voice recorder. While the X7 has a decent sized display, it still retains a fairly nice overall size with measurements of 126.9 (H) x 78.6 (W) x 14.5 (D) mm.
As for the pricing, the 160GB model is selling for 339,000 KRW, which is just over $300 in terms of US dollars. In addition there is also the model with those dictionaries, which is priced a bit higher at 379,000 KRW (around $340 US).
