Sony Vaio Z Line Gets Upgrade
Sony’s Vaio line of laptops has always been a set of fairly sweet machines, but when they get upgraded, well, things usually get better. Brace yourself for the spec sheet on the newly updated Sony Vaio Z.
The newly-remodeled Sony Vaio Z is set to pack a 13.3 inch monitor, your choice of an 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5-460M, a 2.66GHz Core i5-580M or a 2.8GHz Core i7-640M. You’ll also get an optional carbon fiber-colored casing, a maximum of eight gigs of RAM, your choice of 256 gig or 512 gig solid state drive, Blu-ray burner (an option, of course), Nvidia’s GeForce GT330M graphics card, and more besides.
But the biggest feature to this whole thing is the downright preposterous–for a 13.3 inch monitor, anyway, is the 1920 x 1080 screen resolution.
Right now you’re probably slavering over that spec sheet and reaching for your wallet, but best exercise a bit of restraint–that kind of power doesn’t come cheap. How’s a starting price of $2249.99 sound to you? Sounds like a lot, I’d say. And as to the when you’ll get to shell out that large for a laptop, that’s as yet unclear. Some reports suggest early October, and that makes some sense, though the official word is not yet out.
