Sanyo Puts Up New eneloop XX Batteries
Rechargeable batteries are great things, no mistake there–I haven’t bought a set of AAs for my Xbox 360 wireless controller in at least a year that I can recall thanks to them–but they often have a tendency to lose power just from sitting around. Sanyo’s eneloop batteries may have found a solution to that, and they’ll be coming our way in the Sanyo eneloop XX.
Word from Sanyo provides details on the eneloop XX–with 2500 mAH of juice and a promise of more stable voltage and longer life spans, this alone would be welcome news, and adding on the fact that some projections put the eneloop’s power level at 25 percent higher than currently available batteries, well, that’s just icing on the cake.
Of course, for that kind of power, you’re going to pay through the nose. Sanyo pretty much promises high prices as the press release is said to use the word “professional” no less than six times. They’ll hit markets in Europe this December, and whether or not they’ll make the trip to the States in time for us to put really long-lived rechargeable batteries in our kids’ Christmas toys is as yet unclear. Still though, when you consider their substitution value in regular batteries, the price may not be so bad.
