Nexus One In Canada On Mobilicity
Google may have discontinued selling the Nexus One unlocked in the United States for AT&T and T-Mobile customers, but the phone lives on. It’s still being sold in the US via the Google Developer Store, and it’s still being offered by Vodafone in the UK and several other carriers around the world. Now you can add regional Canadian carrier Mobilicity to that list.

Mobilicity is currently selling the Nexus One to their customers, unlocked, for the price of $549. A bit high, perhaps, specially when compared to Quebec regional carrier Videotron who started offering the Nexus One a few weeks ago for $99 on contract, or $449 unlocked.
Right now, we hear the Mobilicity is only limited to the Toronto area. But, fear not, Canadians. The company has plans to expand their networks to other major Canadian cities, including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa. Nice!
Major carrier TELUS offers the HTC Desire, which is a non-Google Nexus One Basically, though customers may prefer the Nexus One on mobilicity, due to its cheaper monthly tariffs.
Lately, it seems like Android is making big in-roads on the smaller carriers. In the United States, for example, we’ve see regional carriers US Cellular and Cellular South both recently start offering Android phones, and not “cheap” ones either. They’re offering ones that could be considered “top tier”, and it’s nice to see this spreading to Canada with Videotron and Mobilicity both offering the Nexus One.
