New Headphones, New iPod Dock From Monster and Beats

Monster and Beats Bring Themed Earbud Headphones And An iPod Dock

Did you forget about Dre? Well, if you did, don’t worry, as a refresher course from the good doctor is well on its way thanks to a slug of new merch coming out of his Beats line of audio equipment.

The lineup is, actually, steadily growing in size and encompasses several new models, which we’ll take a look at here. We start with iBeats headphones, smallest in-ear headphones they offer, and they list for $119. Interestingly, it’s claimed that the iBeats have the same audio quality as all the rest, despite the small size and lower price.

Beats Solo headphones, and JustBeats in-ear headphones, meanwhile, not only have the official sanction of the steadily growing Justin Bieber phenomenon, but also sell for $199 and $119. What makes these special is that they’re purple. Justin Bieber likes purple. If you can’t see the connection, don’t worry, as millions of twelve year olds apparently do.

PowerBeats headphones, meanwhile, hook over the ear so you can get some sweet audio action whilst you perform your regular workout, assuming you actually do work out. Speaking as someone who wears an MP3 player religiously when he goes out walking, I can see where these might help, but I’m not sure I’d pay $179.95 for a set of them. But since these were designed with help from LeBron James, I suppose that’s got some extra celebrity cachet involved.

And lastly, we have the BeatBox, which currently retails for $449 on the Beats website but might get marked down later. It has a dock for your iPhone or iPod Touch, and has a full audio range despite the lack of a subwoofer.

They’ll all be available at Best Buy starting this October, so if you want some really potent but pricey audio gear, you might want to spare a thought for the good doctor’s hardware.
